Mistral Kitchen Seattle

seattlegal2020 (Seattle)·Dined on October 12, 2016Dining at Mistral Kitchen during Seattle Restaurant Week was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. They were terribly understaffed considering it was Restaurant Week, and the only waiter on staff seemed totally out of it (or maybe even drunk) during our service. We waited for 25 minutes to receive our starter salads and continually had to ask for service because it wasn't apparent that we would get any service otherwise (such as bringing the next course, paying our bill, etc.). Even though SRW has three courses including dessert, we had to leave without dessert because we were late to get back to work meetings. I thought 90 minutes should be more than enough for a business lunch, but Mistral Kitchen was not prepared to provide that level of service despite SRW having a set number of menu items. Finally, the food was nothing to write home about. I will not be returning to Mistral in the future. Was this review useful to you?Yes·No·Reportfood2ambience1service1value1

vipsirilinnea (Seattle)·Dined on July 24, 2016We love Mistral! It is one of the very best dining experiences in Seattle. The food is incredible. Every item on their menu is uniquely prepared and presented, but not in a way that is off putting or trying too hard. The setting is beautiful. We celebrated or anniversary in their private room, which is tastefully decorated with flowers, art and pillows. Ask the staff for food and wine recommendations. You won't be disappointed. Was this review useful to you?Yes·No·Reportfood5ambience5service5

vipRick (Atlanta)·Dined on February 11, 2017What a disappointment, after reading such good reviews. I ordered the Atlantic Char, which was good – what I had of it. But the serving was so tiny that I ended up having to order an additional side (potato purée, which was good, but kind of weird) just to feel that I'd had dinner. The real problem was that the fish was delivered swimming in a deep pool of oil. I could drip it off the fish enough to eat it, but the roasted cauliflower was also swimming in it, and it was inedibly drenched in this vast pool of oil. The service was completely forgettable. Not bad, just bland. A guy asked me what I wanted, and then he brought it. He could have been a robot. In a great restaurant city like Seattle, this was definitely a low spot. Was this review useful to you?Yes·No·Reportfood2ambience3service2value1
